Anik Sarker

Anik Sarker is a Senior Software Engineer at Google, focusing on cloud infrastructure reliability. He leads a team that builds and advocates centralized solutions for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) reliability. His current work centers on the safe management of changes to Cloud services.

Previously, as a Site Reliability Engineer on GCP Persistent Disk product, he significantly contributed to the launch of Google Cloud Hyperdisk. This work was recently honored with a Google Cloud Tech Impact Award. His professional experience demonstrates a profound understanding of the intricacies involved in large-scale cloud computing.

Dr. Ruairí O'Reilly

Dr Ruairí O’Reilly is a lecturer in Computer Science at Munster Technological University (MTU) in Cork, Ireland. He is a member of LERO, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software Excellence, and ADAPT, the SFI Research Centre for AI-Driven Digital Content Technology.

His research focuses on integrating automated analytics into workflows requiring expert knowledge. The primary application domain is e-health, combining artificial intelligence, machine learning and distributed systems into scalable clinical workflows. The intent is to contribute an understanding of the inherent limitations of analysis approaches, the data associated with clinical analysis, and the complexity of the multi-stakeholder perspectives required.

Dr. Jim Buckley

Dr. Jim Buckley currently works as an associate professor in the Computer Science and Information Systems Department at the University of Limerick, Ireland. He has worked with/continues to work with companies as diverse as IBM, Fidelity, Information Mosaic, ACI Ireland, QAD Ireland, Wood Group Kenny and the HSE.

He is a Principal Investigator in Lero and leads and directs the TREES (Trustworthy, Responsible, Efficient Engineering of Software) centre of excellence within Lero: a €6 million centre funded entirely by industry. He also leads the ARC group within Lero, a team dedicated to supporting software developers who are tasked with maintaining and evolving software systems.

Dr. Tabea De Wille

Dr. Tabea De Wille is Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at the University of Limerick, Ireland.

She teaches software localisation, internationalisaton and translation technology among other topics and has previously held a number of roles in the games localisation industry.

Dr. Anila Mjeda

Dr Anila Mjeda is a Cybersecurity Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, at Munster Technological University (Cork Campus). Her research interests focus on ethical hacking and secure software development – the design and creation of software applications that are built with security in mind from the outset. Utilizing secure coding practices, implementing security features, and adhering to industry standards and best practices and testing that these work (ethical hacking). The ethical hacking aspects make use of a state-of-art cyber range.

She started her academic life as a Theoretical Physicist and following her passion for modelling complex systems, she received also a BSc and MSc in Computer Science. Dr Mjeda received her PhD in Safety-Critical Systems from the University of Limerick (2013) and she also holds an MA in Teaching in third level institutions from the University of Limerick (2020). She is part of the Cyber Skills project and a member of the Lero research centre since its foundation.
